Legally insured

If you have statutory health insurance, I will treat you in my private practice on a self-pay basis in accordance with the German Scale of Medical Fees (GOÄ).

This means that every patient— regardless of their current insurance status (private or statutory)—will receive an invoice after my examination or treatment.

A private patient can then submit the invoice to their insurance company for reimbursement, whereas statutory health insurance will not reimburse the invoice amount.

As a patient with statutory health insurance, you also benefit from the advantages of a private practice:

Public health insurance patients Welcome at reception by Dr. Kusenack.

I therefore do not offer my services to a specific group of patients—rather, anyone can seek my help, regardless of their insurance status.

As a private physician, I bill my services transparently and comprehensibly in accordance with the German Scale of Fees for Physicians (GOÄ).

Please feel free to contact me regarding this matter.

You can find an overview of the examinations and therapies I offer, including the associated costs, here:

Frequently asked questions on the topic of "statutory insurance"

You are also very welcome to receive treatment from me in my private practice as a public health insurance patient. However, the costs for my examination and treatment are not covered by statutory health insurance companies and you will have to pay for them yourself in this case. You can view the prices for my treatments on my website under the heading "Public Health Insurance Patients." There is no difference in billing for private patients and public health insurance patients. Both receive a transparent invoice in accordance with the German Scale of Medical Fees (GOÄ), and the same service is, of course, billed at the same cost.

In the case of statutory health insurance, the costs incurred by me as a private physician will not be reimbursed by your health insurance company. Private patients generally receive full reimbursement of treatment costs incurred at my practice.

In a doctor's bill according to the German Scale of Medical Fees (GOÄ), each individual service provided is listed separately with a code and a factor that reflects the difficulty or time required for each individual treatment. The total bill is then calculated from the sum of these codes. This makes the billing process completely transparent, clear, and comprehensible. The bill is always issued directly to the patient and never addressed to the health insurance company. Private patients can then settle the bill with their health insurance company, but unfortunately, those with statutory health insurance are not reimbursed by their health insurance company. You have the option of paying in my practice by debit or credit card, in cash, or by bank transfer.

The prices for treatment in my private practice can be found on my website under "Insurance Patients." Every invoice in my private practice is transparent and lists the individual service items according to the German Scale of Medical Fees (GOÄ) and is independent of the patient's insurance status. This means that private patients receive the same invoice as patients with statutory health insurance for the same service. The German Scale of Medical Fees (GOÄ) is a legally binding price catalog for medical services, according to which doctors in Germany must issue their invoices when treating private patients and self-payers or when providing IGeL services.

The prices for treatment in my practice can be found on my website under "Insurance patients." We are also happy to provide you with this information in advance when you make an appointment by email or phone, or in the appointment confirmation when you book online.
