An der Spitze der Sonde erzeugt dann der <strong>Laser oder die Radiofrequenz Hitze mit Temperaturen bis zu 120\u00b0 Celsius in der Vene<\/strong>, die zu einem \u201eVerschwei\u00dfen\u201c der Venenwand beim langsamen und schrittweisen Zur\u00fcckziehen des Katheters f\u00fchrt. Die Vene muss also nicht mehr wie fr\u00fcher mit mehreren Hautschnitten aus dem Bein herausgezogen werden, sondern kann w\u00e4hrend der Behandlung im Bein verbleiben. Das hat mehrere entscheidende Vorteile, auf die im Folgenden ausf\u00fchrlicher eingegangen wird. Die so gesch\u00e4digte Vene wird in den n\u00e4chsten Monaten vom K\u00f6rper in einen <strong>bindegewebigen Strang<\/strong> umgewandelt und dann schlie\u00dflich abgebaut. Die gesamte Behandlung erfolgt unter st\u00e4ndiger Kontrolle mit dem Ultraschall, auch als \u201e<strong>Auge des Phlebologen<\/strong>\u201c bezeichnet. Mit diesem \u201eAuge\u201c k\u00f6nnen w\u00e4hrend des Eingriffes alle Therapieschritte genau \u00fcberwacht und pr\u00e4zise gesteuert werden. Um das umliegende Gewebe vor der Hitzeeinwirkung zu sch\u00fctzen, wird um die Vene herum sterile Kochsalzl\u00f6sung wie eine Art K\u00fchlmittel in das Bein eingespritzt. Je nach Wunsch des Patienten kann der Eingriff in einer leichten Schlafnarkose oder in \u00f6rtlicher Bet\u00e4ubung erfolgen, wobei dann der K\u00fchlfl\u00fcssigkeit ein lokales Bet\u00e4ubungsmittel beigemischt
